North Coast Pots II
With this group of North Coast pots I have concentrated more closely on the form of the pot. I have moved on from just adding to the pots surface to create landscapes. I now push the clay to it’s limits and even beyond in order to impart as much movement as possible. The entire form becomes one with the decoration with the lines of the pot flowing and merging with the lines of the brush. I also sculpt onto the surface and into areas created at the time of throwing. I always have the images and sounds of waves, birds, and the wind in my mind as I craft and create and I hope that your senses will be awakened in similar fashion as you view these works.
